How to Show Someone They're Loved Based On Their Love Language

It would be a simple world if everybody had the same love language, but no matter who you surround yourself with, everybody gives and receives love in different ways. To learn your own love language and recognize others’ gives us the ability to be intentional in the ways we show our appreciation!

It first starts with yourself. If you don’t know your particular love language, head over to 5 Love Languages and take the short quiz. If you love it, encourage your friends, family, and significant other to take it too! We find this topic of love languages to be an amazing conversation starter between friends, coworkers, and significant others. It’s a great way to learn and build a stronger connection with them!

Next, gather some ideas you can use to show your affection. Knowing someone’s love language and showing it in a way you know will be well-received is a great way to strengthen any relationship! Here are a few ideas to show your love and appreciation for someone based on their love language:

Words of Affirmation

  • Leave sticky notes of appreciation
  • Say “I am grateful that you…”
  • Share what you love about them
  • Give them a shout-out on social media
  • Send a thoughtful letter in the mail 
  • Give genuine compliments

  • Show your admiration for their work
