We encourage you to make it a habit to move your body daily; that way, even when you aren’t motivated or don’t feel like it, you’ll do it anyway. Once you make a habit of this, it becomes easier. However, some days the last thing you want to do is move your body. We totally get it. That’s why we want to share some easy ways to move your body if you don’t feel like getting out of bed.
1 // Do One Specific Movement on the Hour, Every Hour, for Your Workday
Maybe the thought of doing a workout seems way too far off and not possible. Commit to one move for the day and a number of sets. Now, do this every hour on the hour starting at the beginning of your workday. For example, you could commit to 20 sit-ups. By the end of the day, you’ll have done more than 100!
2 // Have a Dance Party
If you’ve ever participated in a RISE event, you know we are all about spontaneous dancing to keep energy up. This is an especially great idea if you have kids because they can easily join in. Pick three of your favorite songs and jam out! Here's a list of our favorite songs to start your day!
3 // Habit Stack Your Routine
If you’ve been joining us for Next 90 (you can sign up here and start at any time!), you’ve heard all about habit stacking. Habit stacking is where you add something to a habit you already have established. For example, you can do 10 jumping jacks every time you go to the bathroom!
4// Start a workout video with the intention to only do ten minutes
You can do anything you set your mind to for ten minutes. Chances are if you complete 10 minutes of a 30-minute workout video, you’re likely to finish it. Launching in June, our RISE app will have countless workouts for you to join in on, from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Sign up here for all the details! In the meantime, feel free to browse through a whole list of workouts you can do for free.
